Jokeri Light Rail is implemented as a joint project of the Cities of Helsinki and Espoo.
Helsinki and Espoo have made a partner agreement on the planning and implementation of Jokeri Light Rail. According to the agreement, the executive team of the client will coordinate the cities’ operations. The group is in charge of using the cities’ resources and the restrictions on the scope and quality of the project.
Jokeri Light Rail is implemented with the alliance model. The planning consultant for the project is a consortium formed by Ramboll Finland, Sitowise and NRC Group Finland. The constructor is a consortium formed by NRC Group Finland and YIT Finland. The joint alliance organisation is formed by the designer, the contractor, and the client organisation formed by the cities.
The Land Use and City Structure service entity of the Urban Environment Division of the City of Helsinki, the Municipal Engineering Centre and the City Planning Centre of Espoo will be responsible for the street planning, separate locations and coordinating of related projects required by the Jokeri Light Rail line, as well as for the land use planning and traffic design related to Jokeri Light Rail.
