The new bus depot was handed over to Helsinki City Transport on 15 may 2020

The new bus depot constructed in Roihupelto was handed over to Helsinki City Transport (HKL) on Friday 15 May 2020. The depot was built by the Jokeri Light Rail alliance, and it will be leased to Helsingin Bussiliikenne. The old bus depot will be demolished and replaced by the Jokeri Light Rail tram depot.

The bus depot built by the Jokeri Light Rail alliance in Roihupelto is now finished. The bus depot along with its yard area was handed over to the orderer, Helsinki City Transport (HKL), on Friday 15 May.

The Jokeri Light Rail tram depot with its railway yard will be built on the site of the old bus depot, and the old bus depot will be demolished. The demolition work and consequent construction of the new tram depot will start in the coming summer. The tram depot is expected to be completed in 2022.

The new bus depot meets modern requirements in terms of functionality and technology. The Jokeri Light Rail alliance built the bus depot as a related project commissioned by HKL. The depot will be used by Helsingin Bussiliikenne, which is a tenant of HKL.
